How can I get involved with Album 88?

Students can join Album 88 by becoming a volunteer student DJ at the station. We also have opportunities to work with our live concert series, 88 Sessions.
How Do I apply to be a station DJ

Station DJ applications will be about for about a month at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. Applications open following the Student Media Showcase and can be completed in the forms section on the WRAS - Album 88 PIN page. If the link to DJ applications is not visible, be sure that you are signed into PIN. If it is still not appearing, applications are currently closed and reopen in the spring/fall semester.
What are the requirements to become a DJ?

Students applying must be currently enrolled in the Georgia State University and hold at least a 2.0 GPA school GPA. First semester college freshmen are not eligible to apply (second semester freshmen or freshmen that have completed Dual Enrollment courses during high school are eligible to apply). Graduate students are eligible to apply to be station DJs as well.
I’ve Submitted my Volunteer DJ Application form, now what?

You will receive an email from a member of the Album 88 management team applications have closed. This email will contain dates and times for when you are able to attend a mandatory DJ orientation session. At the end of your orientation, you will receive my instructions on how to schedule training sessions with current DJs and how to access the additional training material online.

If I am not elligible to become a volunteer, what are other ways I can get involved with Album 88?

Where is the radio station located?

After completing training, students will be assigned to a weekly rotation shift that is two hours long and starting and ending on odd hours (ex: 1-3am, 3-5am, 5-7am, etc.). Rotation shifts are available everyday. 7pm-1am everyday is typically set aside for specialty show programming and therefore rotation shifts are not available during these times.
You can volunteer with 88 Sessions, Album 88’s free concert series held on campus and fully student-run. You can reach out to the @88Sessions onInstagram about how to get involved. Some of the roles within 88 Session include camera operator, sound tech, graphic designer, and more. This GPA requirement or application process. Students do not need to Album 88 DJs in order to volunteer with 88 Sessions. 88 Sessions holds 1-2 shows a month, usually held on Friday evenings with the Thursday before used as a rehearsal day.
The Album 88 radio station is located in Student Center West, room 271. The door is usually locked for non-DJs, but if there are DJs in the lobby, you can knock on the door to check the station or ask questions.
